(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes School Board announced this week that Brandon Bata will be the district’s next high school principal.

Bata is moving to the post after holding several positions; the district’s activities director, head boys basketball coach and a junior high math teacher. He was named the Class B Region III Coach Of The Year in 2015.

Bata replaces Dawn Osborn who announced her resignation last month after serving as Oakes High School principal since March 2014.

As a result of the move, Oakes will be seeking a new boys basketball coach for the 2016-17 season. The team will also need a new assistant and junior varsity coach, as Nolen Peterson submitted his resignation this week.
