CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Former mayor Bob Werkhoven was recognized by several members in the Valley City community for his 14 years of service to the city of Valley City, eight of those as city commissioner and six as the mayor of Valley City.

Several members in the community praised Werkhoven for his tireless work while serving as a city commissioner and mayor of Valley City.

Werkhoven and his wife Dottie also received a nice letter of recognition from North Dakota Senator John Hoeven through his representative Jon Cameron during the recognition event held at the Dacotah Bank Pavilion in Chautauqua Park in Valley City on July 24th.

The Werkhoven’s were also celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with their family as cake and other refreshment were served during the event in Valley City.
