SPRINGS, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Everyone is welcome to attend the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the establishment of Clausen Springs on Saturday, July 30th.

The event will kick-off with a flag raising ceremony at 2pm, history of the park stories will be shared, then the planting of the anniversary tree and tour of walking trails.

Following the program, Chris Carlisle (professional kayak fisherman with Johnson Outdoors and a member of the kayak fishing team Adventures On The Water) will present a seminar at the beach including kayak safety tips and rigging your kayak for fishing.

Chris Carlisle is the grandson of John Carlisle, who was instrumental in establishing Clausen Springs.

After the program, the Litchville 4-H club will be serving lemonade, coffee, goodies and anniversary cake out of the concession trailer across from the ball diamond.

One of the employees Faye Rockswold talked to reporter Steve Urness about the excitement surrounding the upcoming event.

Rockwold says the crowd can enjoy the group Raw Sugar on the south side of the park near the ball diamond from 5pm to 7pm. Then Blind Joe takes the stage from 7:30pm to 10:30pm.

Concessions provided by Vera Walker, owner of the Tasty Treat in Litchville, North Dakota.

Rockswold says there is no admission for any of these events. She says Clausen Springs is asking for donations to help defray expenses. Any funds left over will go toward drain tile to make the playground area fully accessible and to help pay for new playground equipment.

In case of inclement weather, the program and both bands will be moved into the Kathryn Hall in Kathryn, North Dakota.
