(NEWSDAKOTA.COM)-The bats came alive for Post 60 are they remain undefeated in The 2016 Class A State Legion Baseball Tournament defeating Wahpeton 7-3 Friday night in Dickinson. Valley City got the offense rolling  with 1 out in the top of the 1st with 4 straight hits that included a Jesse Johnson RBI double and a 2 run home run for Nate Rodriguez. Post 60 jumped out to a 4-0 lead.

In the top of the 3rd they’d plated 2 more runs. Drew Oberlander had an RBI and Justin Manson hit a bases clearing double to make it a 7-0 game. Wahpeton answered back with 2 runs in their half of the inning to cut their deficit to 5.Post 20 added another run in the bottom of the 7th and had runners in scoring position before reliever Rylee Bjork recorded the final out.

Stephen Brooks got the start going 3 innings to get the win. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits with a strike out. Bjork went 4 innings with 4Ks.  The win guarantees Valley City a chance to play for the championship Sunday afternoon. Saturday they face Beulah at 4:30 central.
