N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp will be in Stutsman at two locations to discuss protection of crop insurance and the Farm Bill.

Senator Heitkamp is currently on a tour of the state, discussing important topics to each area. She’ll be in Cleveland this morning at 11:30 AM to participate in a Delta Waterfowl wetland pilot project. The project gives incentives for farmers to preserve small seasonal wetlands on ag lands while still allowing the lands to be farmed.

She’ll wrap up her day in Jamestown at the NDFU offices at 1:45 PM to discuss the importance of maintaining a strong farm safety net and crop insurance programs. The roundtable discussion will also focus on the 2014 Farm Bill and the work needed to protect crop insurance programs as Congress prepares for the next Farm Bill.
