John Thomsen passed away Monday, July 18, 2016, in San Diego, CA.  He was born September 26, 1969, to Drs. Faye and Robert Thomsen in Valley City, ND.  Brian attended  elementary school in Valley City and Devils Lake, graduating from Valley City High School.  He continued his education at DeVry University in Phoenix, AZ.

He was employed by WIS (Washington Inventory Service) his entire career from an inventory specialist in Phoenix, AZ to his final position as Senior Computer Analyst in San Diego, CA.

Brian’s co-workers appreciated his passion for reading and creative thinking that made him the “Go to Person” on their software development team.  He was the mentor for the new analysts and the sounding board for those that had been around for years.  “Party Planner” was another of his titles.  He created photo booths and spooky Halloween scenes, as well as coming in costume for the 60’s and Christmas parties.  His upbeat and positive attitude helped the team, working together, to meet their work schedules and time lines. His recent interest was photography, with photos on everything from a Christmas gift card to a calendar with amazing shots of ND and San Diego’s beaches and skylines.
