CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) It’s the first day of school for students in the Valley City School District.

Motorists are asked to slow down and watch for children in school zones as another school year is underway.

Superintendent Josh Johnson said the staff “Kicked-Off” the school year earlier this week with two staff in-service days. He says the staff received training on Mental Health issues concerning students and assisted in establishing goals for the school year.

Johnson says school board members grilled and served lunch to over 150 employees earlier this week.

Author and motivational speaker VJ Smith gave a presentation to the staff on positive attitudes yesterday and how they can make a difference in the lives of others.
