N.D.  (NewsDakota.com)  The 2016 season kicked of Friday night for the Titans of Central Dakota on their home field, the Titans would get shut out 34-0 to the Squirrels of Central Cass.

The Titans moved the ball well in the first half as Junior Fullback Allen Contreras had eight carries for 29 yards and Junior Quarterback Mason Smith was six of nine for 43 yards, his longest pass was to Senior Rylan Briss for 15 yards.  Briss would get hurt on the play, a left knee injury, he will be evaluated on Monday.  Junior Braden Tripp ran seven times for 20 yards as well in the first half.  Central Cass would get first blood in the second quarter when Sophomore QB Jonah Leitz connected with Drew Roden for a 32-yard touchdown pass with 6:40 left.  The Squirrels had the lead at the half 7-0.

Central Cass exploded for three touchdowns in the third quarter, two rushing and one interception by Senior Linebacker Wade Berg who ran to the end-zone untouched from 35 yards out on the turnover by the Titans.  All three touchdowns were roughly two minutes apart.  Leitz would connect with Tate Camas in the fourth quarter for a 16-yard touchdown reception for Leitz’s second of the game.  Leitz was 9 for 18 with 127 yards and two touchdowns.  The Titans had just eight yards of total offense the entire second half.  The Squirrels had three sacks on defense.
