JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A doctor at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center is trying to further help out those in need.

Dr. Mandy Sorlie, along with her husband Dave, created the ANGELS fund to help those who have experienced the loss of a newborn. Dr. Sorlie pointed out that “ANGELS” is actually an acronym for their funding effort.

Dr. Sorlie pointed out that the goal of the fund was to be used for those who experienced the loss of a newborn child.

Sorlie stated that the hope was the funds wouldn’t be needed, but they would be there for those who did need them.

“The hope is that it will never be used, but also that it grows to the point that the fund will completely cover the medical costs for every family who experiences infant loss,” Dr. Sorlie stated.

She also mentioned that the support for the funding efforts has already been amazing.

A charity golf scramble titled “Golf fore Angels” is planned for Saturday, August 27th at the Jamestown Country Club. The cost is $50 a player and $200 for a four person team and will consist of 9-holes. Registration starts at 9 and all fund raised through the day will go on to benefit the ANGEL fund.
