CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) If someone wants to become a board member of the Garrison Diversion Conservancy you’ll have until September 6th.

Barnes County Commissioner Rodger Berntson says those interested in the position need to collect 50 signatures.

Barnes County Auditor Beth Didier says petitions are available online at the Secretary of State’s website or in the Auditor’s office. Again the deadline is 4:00 pm Tuesday, September 6.

If no one is on the November 8th ballot the Barnes County Commission will appoint someone to fill the four year term.

Roger Bischoff was elected to the Garrison Diversion Conservancy board back in 2008 and served nearly two terms, including as its director before he passed away earlier this month.

Bischoff also served as a commissioner for Valley City from 1978-1986. He was involved in a number of organizations in the community. He was the owner of Allard Trophy Co. in Valley City.
