N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – One of North Dakota’s largest hunting season’s kicks off Saturday.

Opening day for North Dakota residents is September 24th for ducks, geese, coots and mergansers. Nonresidents will begin the following week. State Biologist Doug Leier says hunters should see more fowl when out this year.

Leier stated that the increase in fowl this year won’t be too noticeable, but it bodes well as far as the season is concerned.

Leier also pointed out that with down numbers in almost every other hunting season, residents should focus on the positives with the uptick in waterfowl numbers.
