CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) What does Chase Iron Eyes Democratic-NPL candidate for North Dakota’s congressional seat have to say about the Dakota Access Pipeline project and protest and other issues of interest in North Dakota?

Find out on September 27 as Iron Eyes will participate in two public events in Valley City. He’ll meet with the Valley City State University Native American Culture Club at Medicine Wheel Park on Winter Show Road at 5 p.m. The second opportunity will be for the public to discuss North Dakota issues with him at the Vault in downtown Valley City on Tuesday, September 27 at 7pm. Both events are open to the public.

Chase Iron Eyes is the Democratic-NPL candidate for congress facing Republican incumbent Kevin Cramer in the November 8th general election.

He an American Indian activist and attorney, best known for his work in the Lakota People’s Law Project and for pioneering the Native American news website, Last Real Indians, according to his Facebook page.

He was raised on the Standing Rock Reservation. A graduate from the University of North Dakota in 2000 with a BA in political science and Native American studies. In 2007 he finished his legal training at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Having served as in-house counsel to various Tribal Nations in the Northern Plains.

Iron Eyes said since moving back to Fort Yates, North Dakota he has focused his efforts on helping people recover from the culture of poverty and all of its symptoms found on some reservations in America.

He is married to Dr. Sara Jumping Eagle, they have three children. Dr. Sara Jumping Eagle was a partner in a private medical practice in Bismarck before the family moved back to the Standing Rock reservation where Dr. Jumping Eagle oversees the delivery of medical care at the Indian Health Service hospital. Dr. Jumping Eagle graduated from Stanford School of Medicine.
