CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) The Valley City Park & Rec office will be closed September 29th and September 30th as they move their offices into the new Gaukler Family Wellness Center in Valley City.

All business for Gaukler Family Wellness Center and Valley City Park & Rec memberships and registrations will be done at the new location starting Saturday, October 1st.

Just a reminder reduced rate Gaukler Family Wellness Center passes are available through an application process with Valley City Parks and Rec. This program is income based and a sliding fee scale is used. Those interested in applying may contact Parks and Rec to fill out an application located at the Gaukler Family Wellness Center. Applications are being accepted until Oct 15th and will be reviewed on a quarterly basis.

Once financial eligibility is approved, free Bio-metric testing, orientation to the facility, and a minimum admittance to facility of 12 times every 60 days is required.

To see if you qualify, call the Valley City Parks and Rec office in Valley City at 845-3294 on or after October 1st.

Individuals and families who qualify for free and reduced meals are eligible for Free Programs and pool passes through Parks & Rec. Provide Free and Reduced eligibility letter to Parks & Rec. (Maximum of 3 programs per season)

The Community Wellness For All Program is sponsored by the Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation through funds from the John Deere Foundation, CHI Mercy Health, Essentia Health, and other private donors. Funds are granted to the extent of resources available, prices and availability are subject to change.

Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation Executive Director Andrea Nelson said the foundation recently received an anonymous $50,000 donation for the Community Wellness For All Program.
