L. Williams, 65, of Jamestown, ND, formerly of rural Gackle, ND, died Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Sanford on Broadway, Fargo, ND.

Mona Lynn Berge was born February 2, 1951, the youngest child of Curran and Ruby (Frey) Berge. Growing up on her family’s dairy farm on the east edge of Jamestown cultivated her strong work ethic.  She attended Washington Elementary School and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1969 and attended Jamestown College for a few years.  She married Ernie E. Williams on December 10, 1971 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown.  Mona worked alongside Ernie on their ranch south of Cleveland, ND, and raised two sons, Mike and Terry.  She was in a bowling league in her younger days at “The Ditch” and later coached Junior Bowling in Gackle.

Mona kept in contact with friends and family; she loved to know what they were up to. She enjoyed her reunions with her classmates from 1969.  She had an appreciation for Top 40 music and followed her children and grandchildren’s activities.  

Mona was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, then Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown.

Mona is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ernie Williams, Jamestown; sons, Michael & Heidi Williams, Jamestown, and Terry Williams, Chicago, IL; grandsons, Jeremy and Asher Williams, Jamestown; sister, Ellen & Gene Pederson, Carlsbad, CA; nieces and nephews; and her loyal dog, Bentley.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jeremy Berge.

Mona wanted a closed casket, but the family will receive guests from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, September 30, 2016 at Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 2016 at St. Johns’ Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Pastor Kristi Weber officiating.

Interment: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
