CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) A Barnes County man was arrested for terrorizing following an incident with Valley City Administrator David Schelkoph and Valley City Commissioner Rick Ross on September 28th in Valley City.

The Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin told KOVC Radio news that deputies arrested Robert Drake without incident.

Valley City Police Chief Fred Thompson says Drake allegedly threatened to harm Rick Ross during a telephone conversation and through comments made to David Schelkoph.

Barnes County State Attorney Carl Martineck said the offense is a Class “C” felony.

Earlier this year Drake led an effort to merge the Valley City Police Department with the Barnes County Sheriff’s office. The issue died following a lack of support in the community.
