N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School Board met Monday night in the Jamestown Middle School October 17th.

The board approved their consent agenda, heard a student council report from Connor Fuchs and the Superintendent’s Report from Jamestown Public School’s Superintendent Robert Lech.

Jamestown Middle School Principal Ryan Harty came before the board to discuss the School Improvement Process. Principal Harty pointed out that AdvancED would be coming in the 2017-18 year to study school staff, students, parents, curriculum and many other areas.

AdvancED does their study every five years, having done it for the entire Jamestown School District in 2008 and in 2013. The external review team will arrive and spend an entire week reviewing the entire system.

Superintendent Robert Lech stated that the review process for the external team is intense, having the team work from 7 in the morning to 10 at night for four straight days doing interviews and studying the schools.

Board member Diane Hanson went through the process in 2013. She also enjoyed what the study brings to the schools.

In other news, Superintendent Lech will be awaiting the board’s Superintendent Evaluation. Lech pointed out that he had already completed his self-evaluation and made it available for all board members.
