N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Rural Fire Department was called to a hay bale fire Tuesday evening north of Jamestown.

Rural Fire Chief Ben Maulding reports that crews were called at around 5:40 PM to several hay bales on fire. 13 fire fighters and seven units were called to the turn on U.S. Highway 281 towards Pelican Point Landing.

Maulding says over 150 round bales were on fire. All the bales are burned out, but crews will monitor them through the night. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
