(NewsDakota.com)——–The Carrington girls volleyball team picks up it’s 30th victory of the season but it wasn’t easy as Napoleon-GS forces a five set match before the Cardinals finally prevailed to stay undefeated. It was the first time this year that the Cards were in a five set match and it would take extra points in the fifth set before the victory was secured (23-25, 25-14, 25-17, 16-25, 17-15). Carrington was nearly perfect  again at the service line, making 102 of 104 serves for 99 percent. Carmen Pederson and Abigail Jarrett shared a match high 4 aces. Pederson would also pace the Cards offensive attack with a team high 16 kills and 3 blocks. Maara Nelson tied Pederson with the 16 kills for the Cards. Emerson Hoornaert and Kaedyn Mehring also added 7 kills each to aid the Cardinal victory.

Napoleon-GS had a 55-51 advantage on kills I the match and were led by Kaylin Weigel who finished with a match high 19 kills. Mackenzie Heflin added 12 kills and Emily Christofferson also finished in double figures with 10 kills for the Imperials. LaDora Schmidt led N-GS with 3 aces and also added 8 kills. The Imperials dropped to 22-8 overall with the loss and Carrington improved to 30-0overall. The Cardinal JV team also won earlier in the evening, 2-0 and improved to 20-0 on the season, putting the two Cardinal teams at a combined 50-0 on the year. The Cardinals will wrap up their regular season next Monday at Pingree against the M-P-B Thunder. The match will be aired on AM 1600 KDAK and at www.newsdakota.com starting at about 7:00 P.M.
