(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jay football team played their final Class AAA football game on Wednesday night at Ernie Gates Field. Legacy was searching for their first playoff berth and they got it in convincing fashion, picking up a 37-0 win.

The Sabers scored the game’s first touchdown following a Mason Walters’ interception inside the five-yard line. Alex Brosseau ripped off a 96-yard touchdown run.

Legacy was held in check over the next 12 minutes, but found their grove midway through quarter two and never looked back. They scored 17 unanswered points into halftime, including an Austin Wolf 23-yard field goal on the final play.

Jamestown had three trips inside the Legacy 30-yard line in the first half and couldn’t put any points on the board. Walters was intercepted on two of those trips.

Jared Harr finished off the season with 14 carries for 65 yards.

The next football game for Jamestown High is tentatively set for August 25th, 2017 at Fargo Shanley.
