SD (VCSUVikings.com)- The Valley City State volleyball team rallied from a 1-0 deficit on the road Wednesday night as the Vikings earned a 3-1 conference victory against Presentation College.

VCSU dropped game one in extra points but rallied back with three straight wins for the match victory: 24-26, 25-21, 25-21, 26-24.

Three Vikings tallied double-digit kills in the victory, led by 15 from Taylor Sharp. Megan Johnson pounded home 14 kills and Clarissa Olson scored 12 kills.Nicolette Bloomer added eight kills and Leah Ruter posted seven kills in the match.

Taylor Balkan posted team highs of 48 assists and three service aces. Charlotte Huschka led the Viking defense with 32 digs. Leah Ruter (16), Hailie Wilds (12) andTaylor Balkan (11) all had double-digit digs as well.

The win snaps a seven-match losing streak for the Vikings. Valley City State improves to 8-19 overall and is now 4-7 in the North Star Athletic Association. The Vikings move into a tie with Dakota State for fifth place in the NSAA standings. They are 1.5 games back of Dickinson State for fourth place.

Presentation College drops to 4-24 overall and 1-11 in conference play. The Saints are ninth in the NSAA standings.

Up next: Valley City State closes out its home schedule with two matches at Graichen Gymnasium this weekend. The Vikings host No. 4 Viterbo University at 7 p.m. Friday, and then host Waldorf University at 3 p.m. Saturday.
