N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council met in regular session Monday evening to decide on several issues.

Several consent agenda items were approved including a resolution to approve the New Jobs Training Funds for Agri-Cover Inc, submission of the Transportation Alternative Program Application and several approved payments.

During a public hearing, approval was needed for Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota to refinance with tax-exempt bonds. Steve Fenlon is a Tax-Exempt Specialist with Midwest Healthcare Capital.

The city of Jamestown would have no financial obligation. The motion was approved unanimously.

A brief discussion of the traffic impact study ordinance was held with Councilman Ramone Gumke giving updated amendments.

The amendments were approved.

One of the final issues discussed was renegotiating the contract between the Rough Rider Association and Jamestown Civic Center. Councilwoman Pam Phillips.

Rough Rider Board Director Greg Carlson questioned the profit and loss statement concerning unexpected expenses. He said without the unforeseen expenses, the rodeo would have operated in the black this year.

Mayor Katie Andersen pointed out that termination of the contract would send the wrong message. She recommended the city just entered a renegotiation of the current contract.

The motion was withdrawn and a new motion was made to enter a renegotiation with the Rough Rider Association. The motion passed unanimously.
