CITY (NewsDakota.com)- After going 0-22 last year with a team comprised mostly of freshmen and sophomores The Valley City High School Girls’ Basketball Team hopes that the varsity experience combined with a busy offseason will result in more wins in The EDC. Head coach Jimmy Howard says the focal point has been to improve outside shooting as well as build confidence with his young team, something he says he’s seen in early practices

The Hi-Liners face defending state champion Shanley in their first match up of the year. The Deacons also carry a 70 game winning streak. Tip off is at 5:45 Friday in Fargo. The boys will play in the 2nd game beginning around 7:30.
