Loretta Kaufman was born November 28, 1962 to Tillie (Kauk) and Edgar Kaufman.

Loretta grew up at Jamestown, ND and went to school at Franklin and later Jamestown High School. She also attended Alpha for a number of years before moving to Valley City where she was at the Open Door Center in the ISLA program.  She lived in ISLA for 10 years with the same full-time staff.  That was a blessing to her.

She enjoyed camping, fishing, boat rides, coloring, dancing, and music.  She loved golf cart rides, parades, and attending the fair in Jamestown and she loved her dogs Jake and Jack.  She was always a joy to her family and truly lived life.  She was always a happy, smiling person and gave her love freely  to everyone.

Her parents Tillie and Edgar preceded her in death.  She is survived by 6 sisters and a brother: Donna (Curtis) Kienzle, Bismarck, ND, Jane (Robert) Casaubon, Fargo, ND,  Mary (Mark) Schmidt, Jamestown, ND, Verna (Dean) Scoular, Valley City, ND, Kathy (Doug) Dunn, Bismarck, ND, Jessie (Terry) Heck, Montana, and Frank (Sandie) Kaufman, Rapid City, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
