N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Salvation Army is scrambling to find a way to increase incoming donations in their red kettle campaign.

The latest report from Major Tim Nauta is that the organization is halfway to their deadline and have only raised about $33,000, $42,000 less than where they want to be right now.

Nauta says it’s vital they reach their goal by December 31st or else they face having to cut their services.

Nauta stated that they recently helped a woman with lodging while she waited for a bus during the blizzard last week. He pointed out that if they didn’t have the funding, they would not have been able to house the homeless woman.

Nauta reports that volunteer numbers are up this year, but volunteer’s are still needed.
