L. Jacobson, 75, Washburn, ND died January 9, 2016 at his home in Washburn, ND after battling cancer.

Arden Jacobson was born July 12, 1941 at Wadena, MN, the son of Raymond Jacobson and Dollie (Lenius) Jacobson. He attended Jamestown College, Valley City Teachers College and California State College.

He entered the US Navy in 1959 at Jamestown, ND and was honorably discharged in 1962. He entered the Air National Guard and was stationed at Rapid City, SD. He joined the ND National Guard in 1965 and received a medical discharge in 1966.

He and Helen Emo were married in January of 1964 at Jamestown, ND. They made their home in Ypsilanti, ND and he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad.

He and Shirley Cleveland met in February of 1991 and were married July 10, 1998 in Wibaux, MT. They made their home in Perham, MN. Following the death of his wife in 2001 he continued to reside in Minnesota until he moved back to North Dakota.

He is survived by his children, Theresa (Wally) Hannula, Richmond, IL, and Julie (John) Doherty, Hawthorn Woods, IL; 8 grandchildren; 1 sister and 2 brothers, Karen Rasmussen, Frazee, MN, Kenneth (Marlys) Jacobson, Frazee, MN, and Darwin Jacobson, Detroit Lakes, MN.

He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 sons, Joseph in 2011 and Samuel in 2016, 1 brother, Floyd, and 1 brother in infancy.

It was Arden’s wish to be cremated and a burial of his ashes will take place at a later date.
