CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – ON THE MOVE is an exercise incentive program with the goal of encouraging individuals to get fit, be healthy and exercise. Right now a number of local employers have chosen to pay the ON THE MOVE registration fee for their employees.

Those organizations and companies are CHI Mercy Health, Valley City State University, Barnes County Senior Citizens, Lafarge, Bridge City Dentistry, Barnes County, City County Health District, Open Door Center, APOC, St. Catherine School, and Dakota Bank.

Research has proven that healthier employees are more productive employees. At least 25% of healthcare costs incurred by working adults are attributed to things they can change poor diet and lack of exercise.  A supportive environment at work sends the message that the business/organization cares about their employees and is serious about helping them adopt healthier behaviors to improve their health.

ON THE MOVE challenges each person to set their own physical activity goal and then provides numerous opportunities via classes and free participation at the various exercise venues in Valley City including the Gaukler Wellness Center.
