CITY (NewsDakota.com) The number ten team in Class B Basketball had their work cut out for them in the championship round of the Barnes County tournament, but overcame a halftime deficit, and not only stayed perfect on the season, but won their second consecutive tournament title.

Seventh Place: Sargent Central 63 Barnes County North 56 (Overtime)

Sargent Central was up 12-4 after the first quarter, trailed by two at intermission, and outscored the Bison 11-6 in overtime.

The Cadets earned their first victory of the season thanks to a pair of double-doubles. Drew Wittich had 24 points and 10 rebounds, and Matthew Colemer contributed 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Barnes County North had a team high 23 points from Allen Contreras.

Fifth Place: Enderlin 56 LaMoure-Litchville/Marion 44

The Eagles took the consolation title after trailing 11-5 after the first quarter, but outscoring the Loboes 20-5 in the second quarter to take the lead and never look back. 

Enderlin had four players in double figures. Chance Bye and Peter Lindgren each had 14 points, Spencer Pfaff registered 12 points and Austin Glarum added 10.

LLM had 15 points apiece from Alex Klever and Levi Hirshkorn.

Third Place: Griggs County Central 54 Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page 45

FSHP had an early five point lead, but GCC lead after every quarter and never gave up the lead thereafter. The Spartans only connected for one of their 17 three pointers, whereas the Cougars only missed three of their 21 free throw attempts.

Rylan Briss put in 21 points for GCC, Ethan Brown had 29 points for FSHP.

Championship: Milnor/North Sargent 56 Maple Valley 53

The Raiders sure had upset on their mind, after they lost to the Bulldogs earlier in the season, and were up at half after outscoring MNS 14-8 in the second quarter. In the second half, the Bulldogs found their legs, with 17 points in the third and 20 in the fourth quarter to keep the perfect season going, and retaining the tournament championship for another year. 

Blake Nelson had a team high 19 points for MNS. Maple Valley’s Hunter Smith had 20 points.
