N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The National Lung Association in North Dakota is continuing their work informing residents of the state on the effects of e-cigarettes.

E-cigarettes, or electronic cigarettes, are handheld devices that use concentrated oils of flavors to simulate smoking a real cigarette. In some cases, the liquid is a highly concentrated nicotine.

Kristie Wolff is the Manager of Tobacco Prevention and Advocacy and says that e-cigarettes are the number one tobacco product used by North Dakota youth. She reports that studies show nicotine’s disastrous effects on the developing human brain.

Wolff reports that over 8,000 flavors exist for e-cigarettes and tobacco companies are targeting youth specifically with their products.
