N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The funeral for recently slain Rolette County Deputy Colt Allery had over 2,000 in attendance Tuesday afternoon.

Sgt. Tim Briggeman of Cass County reported the numbers Tuesday.

“Of the 2,000 in attendance, it is believed that 1,200 of the attendees were law enforcement,” Briggeman stated in a release. “Total number of law enforcement vehicles participating in the processional was over 320.”

The funeral was broadcast over several television stations. The procession began at Turtle Mountain Community College, North to Saint John, ND, and then South to Rolla.

Flags were flown at half-staff beginning Tuesday morning through the afternoon. Deputy Allery was killed following a high speed chase that ended Wednesday January 18th in Rolette County. He was the 57th law enforcement officer in North Dakota to be killed in the line of duty.
