(NewsDakota.com) In a contest that saw a combined 18 three pointers, the Carrington High School boys basketball team kept their perfect Class B District 5 winning streak going with a 75-64 victory at Oakes Tuesday night.

The Cardinals (14-2, 5-0 District 5) trailed for the majority of the first quarter until the final possession when they took a 22-21 lead. From then on, they never looked back and made 10 threes in the course of the game. Kolten Vetter and Garrett Bickett each made three and scored 20 and 19 points respectively in the victory.

The Tornadoes (4-12, 2-4) made the other eight threes, with Andrew Detlefsen making five of them; finishing with 19 points. Tyler Voightman made three threes and finished with a team high 20 points in the defeat.

Carrington will try to go six for six in District play when they host Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier Thursday.
