M. Nielsen, 88, Valley City, ND died Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, Valley City, North Dakota. She was born January 28, 1929 in Ashtabula Township, Barnes County, ND.  She was the daughter of Richard and Emma (Beil) Eggert.  Myla attended Alderman School through eighth grade and graduated from Valley City High School in 1947. She married Wayne Nielsen October 2, 1948.  Myla and Wayne were the first ones married upstairs in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.  The church was built by N.M. Nielsen and sons, Wayne and Gene Nielsen with Nielsen Construction.  Wayne passed away on November 6, 1980. Myla was a lifelong member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Valley City.  She was a lifetime member of the DAV Auxiliary and a member of the VFW, American Legion, and Eagles Auxiliaries.

Myla is survived by three children, daughter Deb (Nielsen) Feuerherm; and sons Bruce (Cheri) Nielsen and Mark (Stacey) Nielsen, all of Valley City.  She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Kristi (Ken) Felchle, Soldotna, AK, Kim Bishop, Las Vegas, NV, Todd (Lily) Feuerherm, Stevenson Ranch, CA, Tara (Jason) Moore, Wasilla, AK, Dusty (Nikki) Nielsen, Nick (Amanda) Nielsen, Tanner Nielsen, Michael (April) Whisler, all of Valley City, ND, and Jade (Jamie) Nielsen, Fargo, ND; 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Myla was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; her parents; brothers, Irvin, Russell, and Harvey Eggert; sons, Rick and Randy Nielsen; son-in-law, Mike Feuerherm; grandson, Josh Nielsen; and longtime companion, Albert Lewellyn.

The funeral service will be 11 am Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Valley City.  Burial will be in the spring in Woodbine Cemetery, Valley City.
