CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Speaker Tony Hoffman is in Valley City addressing the importance of recognizing and recovering from drug addiction.

The California native and former Pro BMX racer hopes to help people by sharing his story of addiction and recovery.

During an interview with Steve Urness, Hoffman talked about his addiction and recovery and the need to provide awareness to those struggling with substance abuse and to find a way to help them.

Hoffman will speak to students and the community on Monday, February 13th in Valley City.

The presentation is free and open to the public. The first presentation will be held at the Hi-Liner Activity Center tonight at 6pm and second will be held at 7:30pm in Vangstad Auditorium on the VCSU campus all on Monday, February 13th.

On behalf of Valley City Public Schools, Valley City State University, and City-County Health, I would like to announce an upcoming event here in Valley City that will address and educate you on the issues of Drugs and Alcohol.

Tony Hoffman, a former BMX Pro, who will tell his story of addiction and how he was able to put these issues behind him.  Tony will speak to our students, staff, parents, and community about how to help those struggling with Substance Abuse issues and the local resources that are available.

This event will begin a series of programs our organizations will sponsor to bring awareness to our youth, young adults, parents, and community.
