N.D. (AP) — Forecasters predict a temporary taste of spring this week when temperatures could rise to record-breaking levels in North Dakota.

The mercury could hit 63 degrees Thursday in Dickinson. Williston temperatures could rise to 56 and Minot to 54 degrees — all record breakers.

The National Weather Service predicts 55 degrees in Bismarck Thursday, the warmest day of the week. That would be just short of the previous record for the day of 57 degrees set in 1981.

The average temperature for this time of year in North Dakota is 27 degrees. Temperatures are expected to drop back into the 30s next week.
