CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Barnes County Historical Society Lecture Series Presents:  Mike Watterson “Greece, Athens Aegean Island Cruise and Western Turkey.” February 23rd at 7 p.m. at the Barnes County Museum in downtown Valley City.

Below is a brief history of the trip and this area of the World known as the cradle of Western Civilization.

In Greece, the cradle of Western civilization beckons you with its proud monuments, sun-drenched isles, and friendly people. Mike and Randi Watterson have traveled to Japan, India, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and recently to Greece and Turkey. 

Watterson taught science for 37 years at Valley City High School until his retirement in May of 2013.
