N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Jamestown woman was injured after striking a tree at the I-29 Southbound entrance ramp from I-94 East.

The incident happened at around 2:30 PM Wednesday afternoon. According to Sgt. Matthew Denault with the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the 18 year-old woman was traveling on I-29 Southbound when she drove off he left edge of the roadway. The driver steered right, but over-corrected, causing the vehicle to rotate. The vehicle then slid sideways into a west ditch before striking a tree on the driver’s side door.

When emergency crews arrived, they found the woman unconscious with her legs pinned inside the vehicle. She was extricated by the Fargo Fire Department and transported to Essentia Hospital in Fargo for her injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
