SD (PlayNorthStar.com)- For the second straight year, the North Star Athletic Association have three teams sharing the Men’s Basketball Regular-Season conference title.  Bellevue, Dickinson State and Jamestown all shared the regular-season title with an 11-5 conference record.

The Bruins (19-10 overall record) will be the No. 1 seed when the 2017 North Star Men’s Basketball Conference Postseason Tournament kicks off on Thursday, Feb. 23.  BU owns the tiebreaker with a 3-1 record among versus DiSU and UJ combined.  The Blue Hawks (20-10 overall record) will be the No. 2 seed (2-2 combined record versus BU and UJ), while the Jimmies (17-13 overall record) will be the No. 3 seed (1-3 combined record versus BU and DiSU).

Viterbo (Wis.) will be the number four seed in the postseason tournament with an overall record of 18-11 and 10-6 NSAA conference record.

The top four seeds all host the first round games on Thursday.

Dakota State (15-15 overall record) and Valley City State (16-14 overall record) both finished with a tie for fifth with an 8-8 North Star conference record.  The Trojans own the tiebreaker over the Vikings, breaking the tie with DaSU earning a victory over BU during the regular-season play (VCSU did not beat BU this season).

Waldorf (11-18 overall record, 7-9 NSAA) will be the No. 7 seed, followed by No. 8 seed Presentation (10-17 overall record, 4-12 NSAA).

Mayville State did not make to the conference tournament as they ended their regular-season with an overall record of 9-18 and 2-14 record in the North Star conference game.

The quarterfinals begin on Thursday with BU hosting PC, VU welcoming DaSU, WU traveling to DiSU and VCSU visiting UJ.

The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 25, at the highest two remaining seeds with the game times being determined after the first round on Thursday.  The NSAA Championship game is set for Monday at the highest remaining seed.

The NSAA Postseason Tournament Champion earns an automatic bid to the NAIA Division II National Tournament on March 8-14 at the College of Ozarks Keeter Gymnasium in Point Lookout, Mo.
