CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Attendance for the North Dakota State Pinochle Tournament held February 17th & 18th was fantastic. 94 teams competed in the 28th annual tournament held at the Eagles Club in Valley City.

The overall champions are Harold Fryer of Peever, South Dakota and Ray Christensen of Wilmot, South Dakota.

Half of the teams were from North Dakota, some from Minnesota and South Dakota. One team from Blythewood, South Carolina and two teams from Spokane, Washington.

The tournament was sponsored and coordinated by the Valley City Area Chamber of Commerce.

The other photo attached is of Bill & Dixie Johnson (Bill in orange, Dixie across) who have been coming to the tournament for 23 years and they live in Spokane, WA. Their daughter Emma Johnson, and her partner Johanna Stafford took 2nd place this year.
