Bolme, 84, of Adrian, ND, passed away Friday morning, March 17, 2017 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown, ND.

Joyce was born May 16, 1932, in Lisbon, ND, the daughter of Kenneth and Mary (Hanson) Carter. She graduated from Lisbon High School and attended Valley City State and received her teaching certificate. Joyce taught in a rural school in the area and later worked as a secretary for attorney Roy Holland in Lamoure, ND. She married Donald A. Bolme on December 17, 1951 in Fargo, ND. They made their home on a farm near Adrian and Joyce was a cook at the Adrian Public School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Adrian where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies Aide. Donald passed away on May 20, 1997 and Joyce continued to reside on the farm.

Joyce is survived by her children, Donna (Andy) Waldock, Jamestown, ND, David (Sharon) Bolme, Adrian, Debra (Elden) Backer, Jamestown, and Denise (Rod) Skjeret, Jamestown; grandchildren, Andrea Waldock-Miller, Lindsey (Brandon) Knudsen, Tyler Bolme, Brandi (Tyler) Kastet, Brittney (Paul Emo) Skjeret, and Brooke (Ty Larson) Skjeret; great-grandchildren, Beau Waldock, Ethan Waldock, Anthony Waldock, Tobyas Miller, and Rhett Kastet; sister, Jean (Kent) Miller, Adrian; and sisters-in-law, Kathy Carter, Laurel, MT, Diane Carter, Great Falls, MT, and Ruth Harriet Beketa, Custer, MT.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Tyrel Waldock; brothers, Jerome Carter and Jon Carter; and infant son, Douglas.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Monday, March 20, 2017 at Good Shepherd Chapel, Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the chapel.

Interment: Adrian Cemetery, Adrian, ND.
