N.D. (JimmieAthletics.com) – Brad Bennett (SR/Hillsboro, OR) and Kory Wolden (JR/West Fargo, ND) were named NSAA Pitcher and Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Bennett pitched a two-hit shutout in the Jimmies’ 10-0 win over NCAA DIII Nebraska Wesleyan Saturday. The senior struck out a career-high 11 batters and did not allow a walk while registering his first shutout of the season. Bennett (2-1) has posted a 30:4 K/BB ratio in 33 innings this season and has held opposing hitters to a .190 batting average.

Wolden had three multiple-hit games on the weekend. In the Jimmies’ 12-2 win against Concordia (Neb.), Wolden was 4-for-5 with three runs scored including a double and 4 RBI. He followed that up with a 2-for-5, 2 RBI performance against NCAA DIII Nebraska Wesleyan in Jamestown’s 10-0 win. Wolden recorded a three-hit game, including a double, in the Jimmies 1-0 loss to Concordia (Neb.) Saturday. Finally, Wolden drove in a pair of runs and scored one as Jamestown rolled to an 11-0 win over Nebraska Wesleyan Sunday. He finished the week with a .529 average, 8 RBI on 9 hits (3 2B), was hit by pitch twice, stole two bases, and had an OPS of 1.277 in 21 total plate appearances.

Jamestown (17-8) heads to Forest City, Iowa this weekend for a pair of conference doubleheaders against Waldorf University.
