CITY, N.D (NewsDakota.com) – NDSU Extension Service Livestock Marketing Economist Tim Petry believes cattle prices this year will be similar to what cattle producers received last year.

Petry said the meat export market made is moderate come back last year but remains in doubt after a case of Bird Flu was reported in Tennessee earlier this month. He said right now it’s not known how widespread or isolated this case of Bird Flu maybe in Tennessee.

Petry travels throughout the area conducting meetings on livestock marketing and educational topics. He gave a presentation on the market outlook during the Ag Challenge at the North Dakota Winter Show earlier this month.
