(NewsDakota.com) – Only an eighth grader and the only Blue Jay competing at the state indoor meet, Megan Ford broke a long-standing school record. She toppled the indoor record for the 3200 meters.

She finished with a time of 11:26.26 which is nearly three seconds ahead of the record that was set in 1996 by Jessica Neva. Neva ran the race in 11:29.01.

The indoor state meet was held on Saturday at the Bison Sports Arena.
