N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Carrington Mayor Neil Fandrich joined KDAK to discuss several items of discussion during the March Council meeting.

One of the first items was the Foster County Extension Service request to hold sheep out at the Foster County Fairgrounds.

Later in the meeting, members in the community approached the council to discuss adjusting their taxes. Mayor Fandrich reports that sales and values of property in Carrington are a little offline.

Fandrich pointed out that the council asks for an appraisal within one year, giving them an idea of what it’s worth.

Later, an update was given by the Carrington Fire Department, which will be busy on April 8th installing free fire alarms all over the community. Mayor Fandrich also welcomed Jennifer Gast as the new Carrington City Auditor.

The Carrington Airport had been looking at resurfacing in the fall of 2016, but had to move it because of weather conditions. Now that conditions have improved, crews will begin to resurface the main runway.

Mayor Fandrich says public works have also been busy in the Central City.
