N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – John and Tammy Sadek are pushing for a change on how a confidential drug informant is treated during the recruiting process. Their son, Andrew was a student and died while working as a drug informant in 2014.

The North Dakota House passed “Andrews Law” but the Senate changed the original language, now District 24 State Senator Larry Robinson of Valley City says bill has been reworked he believes to the families wishes.

A legislative conference committee revised the language in the bill more to the Sadek’s original measure.

Richland County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Weber recruited Andrew Sadek to be a confidential informant after he was arrested for selling 3.3 grams of marijuana back in 2013. Sadek was found dead in June of 2014.

The Sadek family filed a civil lawsuit against Richland County following the death of their son who died while working as a drug informant in Richland County.
