N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A Rugby man is dead after his vehicle was struck by a train in downtown Rugby around 12:16am on April 17th.

The Highway Patrol says said a Chevrolet Equinox driven by 41 year-old Howard Duck was stopped on the south side of the tracks waiting for the train. The vehicle then accelerated, went around the barricade and was struck on the passenger side by the train.

Duck was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The barricades were down with lights flashing. The train was traveling at 40-45 mph at the time of the crash. Two BNSF employees were not injured in the crash.
