(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High School baseball team picked up two victories in Class B Region I play after defeating LaMoure-Litchville/Marion two times in two totally different ways Tuesday at Cummings Field.

In the first game of the twin bill, the Tornadoes wasted little time, with an 11-1 victory in four and a half innings, Oakes put up a six spot in the second inning, and another four in the third to seal the deal. Zander Bauer earned the win for Oakes, allowing three hits and striking out two. Lucas Lautt had three hits, one of them a double, and scored three times.

Game two was a back and fourth affair, with Oakes eventually coming out on top 15-10. Each team finished the game with 13 hits, but it was the Tornadoes who poured on the runs in in the sixth inning, with seven on just two hits. Dawson McKeever had two hits and three runs batted in to help Oakes complete the sweep.

Oakes welcomes Kindred-Richland Thursday, with coverage starting at 4:45 and first pitch at 5 p.m on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com
