(NewsDakota.com) The Kindred-Richland Vikings improved to 4-0 in Class B Region I after a 20-3 victory at Cummings Field against Oakes Thursday evening. 

The Vikings came out hot from the start scoring five runs in the first inning, but really found their groove in the fourth, batting twice through the order and scoring 11 runs on 13 hits. Derek Houska lead the way with three doubles and three runs scored.

Ethan Lingen earned the win going three innings of no-hit ball, while striking out five. Dawson McKeever, in his first varsity start was the losing pitcher, lasting one and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits. Taylor Schall had two hits and scored a run in the defeat.

Oakes (3-3) will host Enderlin/Maple Valley on Saturday with coverage and first pitch scheduled for noon on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com
