WIS. (VCSUVikings.com) – The Valley City State golf teams played round three of the NSAA Conference Championships on Monday in Wisconsin.
The 72-hole tournament began with 36 holes in the fall and concludes this week with rounds Monday and Tuesday at The Golf Club at Cedar Creek.
Valley City State’s men fired a 319 team score on Monday, led by a 1-over 73 from Kyle Wiebe. VCSU’s men remain in fourth place out of six teams. The Vikings are leading Waldorf University by 13 shots and are trailing University of Jamestown by 21 shots for third place.
Wiebe’s 73 tied for the second lowest round of the day behind only Bellevue’s Diego Gugino, who shot a 72 and leads the tournament by six shots.
Cameron Rall and Jared Lentz both shot an 81 on Monday. Rall is currently in 12th place overall while Lentz sits in 16th. The Top 12 after Tuesday’s final round earn All Conference honors. Jeremie Pasitney shot an 84 and sits in 20th place. Collin Hoss rounded out the Viking team with an 89 on Monday.
On the women’s side, the Vikings carded a 406 team score after an 89 by Haley Christofferson and a 90 by Nicole Heinitz. The Vikings are in fifth place out of seven teams.
After 54 holes, Heinitz sits in 12th place while Christofferson is in 18th. Mikayla Smith shot a 112 on Monday and is 24th overall, while Megan McNamee shot a 116 and is 27th. Tory Anderson carded a 115 on Monday.
