(PlayNorthStar.com)- Valley City State University sophomore Seri Geisler was named the NSAA Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday for the third time this spring.

North Star Athletic Association Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Seri Geisler – Valley City State (N.D.) – Sophomore – Grand Rapids, Minn. – Geisler won the women’s javelin throw in the Ron Masanz Classic for Valley City State (N.D.).  She won the javelin throw for the fifth time in six meets this spring.  Her throw of 49.91 meters (163 feet, 9 inches) beat second-place by more than 26 feet and was the second farthest throw in facility history, behind only her own throw from last year.  Geisler also placed third in the shot put (second among attached collegiate entries) with a measurement of 12.24 meters (40 feet, 2 inches).  She ranks first in the North Star in both shot put and javelin, and also ranks first in the NAIA in javelin.

2017 North Star Athletic Association Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Six North Star Athletic Association members – Dakota State (S.D.), Dickinson State (N.D.), Jamestown (N.D.), Valley City State (N.D.), Viterbo (Wis.) and Waldorf (Iowa) – will be competing in the two-day conference meet on Thursday and Friday.  Jamestown (N.D.) will be this year’s host at Al Cassell Field.  This will be the last track meet for athletes to produce national qualifying marks for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, which will be held in Gulf Shores, Ala. on May 25-27.
