N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown has been recognized for the business efforts after being nominated to receive the Young Professionals of Jamestown’s Business of the Month award for May.

The award is given to a business or organization that employs local professionals of all ages, provides a consistent, superior customer experience and is actively engaged in the community. On Monday, May 15th, the University received their award.

The nomination letter came from a resident that was encouraged by the work the University was doing with the community entrepreneurship center in Jamestown. The nomination letter reads:

“UJ deserves the Business of the Month Award because they consistently fulfill the requirements of the award and go way beyond. The most recent example of this is the University’s initiative to start an entrepreneurship center in Jamestown. The University has committed essential resources to take the lead on making the center a reality and has rallied other public and private entities towards a shared vision of building an entrepreneurial culture in our community. Although the results of the project may not be fully realized for many months, this type of leadership from local businesses is exactly what our community needs to be successful and vibrant in the future!”

University President Dr. Robert Badal says they are grateful to have been nominated to receive the award.

The University of Jamestown will now be in the running for Business of the Year, which is given at the Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet in January 2018.
