N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Three individuals were injured after a semi rear-ended a vehicle on I-94 near Jamestown Saturday.

Osman Hirsi, 24, and Ogbad Jama, 23, were traveling eastbound in a Mercury roughly 14 miles west of Jamestown. A semi driven by 29 year old Ben Christen of Albany, Minnesota was also traveling eastbound. Christen became distracted, causing him to swerve to miss the vehicle. This resulted in the semi colliding with the rear-end of the Mercury.

After collision, the semi jackknifed and entered the median where it came to rest on its passenger side. The Mercury came to rest in the eastbound lane. Jama was transported to the JRMC where she was treated and released. Hirsi was not injured

Christen and his 5 year-old passenger were also transported to the JRMC where they were treated and released as well. Charges are pending.

The incident remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
